Our Pre-Poured Sterile Agar Plates are poured, wrapped, and packed under sterile conditions in our lab. Each 100mm Petri dish is ready to use straight out of the bag — ideal for isolating and propagating mushroom cultures, cloning wild mushroom specimens, or germinating fungal spores.
Pouring your own plates at home carries real contamination risk without a proper flow hood. Ours are poured in front of flow hoods in a controlled lab environment, so you skip that risk entirely and get straight to culturing.
Our Potato Dextrose Agar (PDA) has a slightly acidic pH (5.5), ideal for promoting healthy fungal growth while inhibiting bacterial contamination — a trusted medium for cleaning up and transferring cultures.
Each plate is carefully wrapped in parafilm after cooling to maintain sterility, then packaged in sterile bags and shipped directly to you.
Storing unused plates: keep upright, at room temperature, away from direct sunlight, in the original packaging. Once a culture is added: store right side up in the refrigerator.
