Shiitake Mushroom Grow Kit

Growing your own shiitake mushrooms at home is easier than most people expect, and this kit is where the culinary classic starts. Lentinula edodes produces rich, savory caps with deep umami flavor and a firm, meaty texture, which is why shiitake is the backbone of soups, stir fries, ramen broths, and anything you want to taste like it simmered all day. Our strain fruits in broad brown caps that blister beautifully under heat and hold their structure in the pan instead of going limp the way store bought mushrooms do.

Each shiitake grow kit is a full 10 lb commercial block, roughly twice the size of the kits you will find from most competitors, and it yields two to four pounds of fresh mushrooms across multiple flushes. That is the same block we run in our own production rooms, not a scaled down hobby version. You are harvesting mushrooms that cost fifteen to twenty dollars a pound at the market, right off your counter, for weeks.

Shiitake likes a bit of cold shock to trigger fruiting, so a night in the fridge or a cool garage gets things moving. From there, keep the block in indirect light with fresh air and mist it daily.
